Let this be a memorial.
A loooooong time ago, I was supposed to redesign this site. But then I lost interest. I still loved the games. I still loved web design. But it was all too ambitious. SO MANY games, all by myself. I was supposed to hire some guy on to work the GBA section, but that never happened. I got through with the Banjo Kazooie and most of Donkey Kong 64, and petered out. I really felt bad about it. I had such a cool looking design and everything! But... it just didn't happen.
That was more than a year ago. Heh... it might actually be more than TWO years ago. I didn't put the year down on the last update I did, so I'm not really sure.
How things have changed since then.
Ever been to N-Sider? I work there now. Name's Cory Faller. 19 year old college student, as of June 2002. Figure it's about time I let that cat out of the bag. Drop me a line, if you like. Thanks to N-Sider, I actually made it to E3 this year. That's right, all the way to LA. And I suppose I owe it all to the Raptor's Den. If it wasn't for this little place, I never would've developed the passion for Nintendo that set off such an amazing chain reaction.
In breif. Pete Deol notices a GameCube wallpaper I made and put up on the Nintendorks message boards. He offers me a job at N-Sider. It falls through. Long time later, friend turns down writing something for NintendoWeb. She passes it on to me. So I write it. Eric Denney, NintendoWeb editor and Nintendork staffie, likes what he sees and hires me on. I write for them for a while, without getting on the staff page for some reson. Internal stryfe commences, Denney quits, I go as well. All this time, I'm building up popularity on the N-Sider message boards. I drop Pete a line again. Apply, using NintendoWeb articles as a reference. And I get in. Since then, I've done a variety of stuff. Most notably, my huge ass SSBM feature. I'm working on a Zelda @ E3 feature as we speak.
So how about all that, eh? But every once in a while, I look on my hard drive and see all my old projects. This one, especially. So I figured, what the hell. I'll put up what I've got. So here it is. Banjo Kazooie is the only game that works in its entirety, and Donkey Kong 64 works in most departments. The sidebars for those games were absolutely beautiful. The other N64 games have all of their media uploaded, but no individual pages to call their own. The Gamecube and GBA sections don't go any farther than their respective home pages. I did take a HELL of a lot of time to individually find the logos for all the N64 games on this site, though, and make them into various headers. Scanned them off boxes, scoured the net, etc. You can probably figure out how they're all saved on the server by finding the address of the logos for BK and DK64. Please, go look at some of 'em. Don't let all that hard work go to TOTAL waste. Check the "About" section, too. Has a nice little history section in the left bar that talks about all the past versions of this site.
But yeah, that's about it. If anyone from way back in the day actually remembers that this site used to exist, send me an email. We'll reminice.
So long, Raptor's Den. It was a blast while it lasted.
